THANKS FOR THE
GREAT TIME
Thanks to all the folks who worked to make the June Picnic at Diane’s a fun event: the cookers, the drivers, the sailors! And the weather gods for cooperating! Everyone had a memorable event. Thanks, Diane & Pete, for hosting it.

The EYES HAVE IT!
By
Tony Teano
Dr.
Tim Barr (410-224-2306) at Island Eyecare has a phenomenal eye exam plan that
will benefit you and your favorite charity (hint, hint, HAVEN!). The comprehensive eye exam normally costs
$65; but, if you write a check to HAVEN for $25, your exam will only cost
$40! AND you will be eligible for their
Island Eyecare savings plan--$50 off of eyeglasses and 20% off of contact
lenses and non-prescription sunglasses!
Island Eyecare (formerly on Main Street in Annapolis) has a FABULOUS array
of premium products. Island Eyecare is conveniently located at 2567 Housely
Road in Annapolis (a quarter mile from Westfield Shopping Center). When you arrive, you will be greeted by the
amazing Marianne Ring, who will be happy to assist you. I’ve been a loyal
customer for years, and these are some of the best folks in town!

Sharing Your Story:
Impacting Lives Through HAVEN’s Speakers Bureau
By Tony Teano
We are currently exploring the possibility of an audio-visual exhibit for display at churches or at a shopping center or a health care facility, etc. The concept involves making a voice recording of your story that lasts for about five minutes. An image of or about the speaker (like a photograph of your hands holding a red ribbon or a silhouette or something else suitable) would go along with it and both would be used in an interactive display. I am looking for about eight people who represent different parts of the community, ages, genders, sexual orientations, etc., to show that HIV affects everyone. Please contact me ASAP if this appeals to you.
