HAVEN has provided me so much support. My Buddy has helped me emotionally and has given me unconditional friendship. I don't have to worry about my HIV status around her, and I can talk about it openly. Through the social functions, my children and I have met people we never would have otherwise.

HAVEN helped revitalize me. I had toxoplasmosis, a brain infection that left me relearning basic life skills. When I got out of the hospital, my strength had depleted immensely and I had really shut myself off from people because I was so ill. HA.V.E.N. came along and gave me a reason to fight.

Once I was told I had HIV, my life really became full of loneliness and fear -- fear not of death, but of rejection. I really didn't know how to tell my family and friends. Now I truly thank God for HAVEN and all its done for me. Through HAVEN, I have been able to learn how to deal with my disease, through the love and affection they give at support groups.
