Our Place

HAVEN's Transitional Housing Program, called Our Place, is a rented three-bedroom residence for three adults living with HIV disease who are in need of a transitional, supportive housing arrangement. The program is designed to assist residents in finding permanent living arrangements, normally within six to 12 months. The target population is adults who have no housing or are in transition, including persons who were staying in shelter, treatment programs, hospitals and prisons. Applicants will be persons who are willing to share common facilities and to use supportive case management, but do not require supervision or personal care.

The Housing Counselor will address each resident's medical and psycho-social needs, including maintenance of recovery from substance abuse and compliance with triple therapy, if applicable. The counselor will develop a care plan with each resident, including a plan for a permanent living arrangement. Residents with income will contribute towards room and board according to a sliding scale, and will maintain a savings account.
