HAVEN is committed to preserving the rights to privacy and confidentiality of everyone served by our network. HAVEN offers six programs to assist people who are HIV positive and their loved ones, including seven different support groups, a HAVEN "Friends" program, food distribution, housing, financial assistance and provides transportation. HAVEN also sponsors a number of special events and provides outreach to the community at large. Currently HAVEN is also working on developing a client recreation program. |
Support Groups: With a diagnosis of HIV or AIDS comes sensitive and emotionally charged issues. To help individuals cope with these psychosocial factors HAVEN has seven individualized support groups. Click here for more information on HAVEN's support groups. |
Transportation: In order to meet the transportation needs of clients HAVEN has designed a transportation program in which volunteers drive clients to and from medical appointments, support groups and other errands. Last year HAVEN was able to provide over 300 rides to clients. When volunteers aren't available, HAVEN utilizes local taxi companies. |
Housing: "Our House," HAVEN's housing service, is a private home offering a quality environment for people with advanced HIV disease who need assistance with daily living. "Our House" provides a live-in caregiver and a caring community whose purpose is to enrich life and dinify death. Since its inception in 1989, "Our House" has been home to 19 individuals living with AIDS. Click here for more information on "Our House"
